Jimmy Buffett Day in Pennsylvania!

Before Jimmy Buffett took to the stage June 26 for a sold-out concert at PNC Park in Pittsburgh,
State Representative Tim Solobay presented the singer with a House resolution
declaring that day as Jimmy Buffett Day in Pennsylvania.

Solobay, D-Washington, said he introduced the resolution (H.R. 325) to recognize the
important civic contributions of Buffett and his fan club, Parrot Heads in Paradise Inc.
The organization, with 200 clubs and 23,500 members worldwide,
works to promote the general welfare of communities.

In Pennsylvania, there are 12 Parrot Head clubs with more than 1,500 members logging more than
14,000 hours of volunteer work and raising $264,000 for charitable organizations in 2004.
The Alzheimer’s Association, Make-a-Wish Foundation, Multiple Sclerosis Service Society,
Ronald McDonald House, Wings for Children, and the Muscular Dystrophy Association
have all benefited from their dedicated work.
